The 2025 Exams are now available for purchase.

Dear valued clients,

We wanted to inform you of some upcoming changes to ATTI in 2023.  Over the last year, ATTI has experienced an extraordinary increase in applicants failing their exams, putting a significant strain on the program. The ATTI program is designed such that applicants must have experience or have received training in the applicable test methods and calculations before taking examinations.

Therefore, the ATTI Board of Directors voted to implement the following prerequisites before sitting for an ATTI exam. The requirements below will take effect beginning January 1, 2023 and can be found in the ATTI Manual online.  All New Applicants who do not currently have a certification number must submit evidence of this training or experience in one of the following ways:

  • work history record demonstrating a minimum of 12 months experience in testing subfields for the certification sought; or
  • record of prior certification in a subfield from ATTI or a similar subfield from another State; or
  • training records demonstrating initial training in each of the test methods and the importance of proper procedures, and the significance of test results.

The training must be verified by a qualified person who is either an ATTI certified technician or a registered professional engineer experienced in highway, materials sampling, and testing.

Forms for documenting the work history and/or training requirements are available on the ATTI website under Resources > Workbooks. They must be completed and submitted to ATTI 14 days before taking an exam. If ATTI does not receive acceptable work history, prior certification, or training records within 14 days of the exam date, the application will be put on hold, and the time slot for that exam will be made available to another applicant. All forms should be emailed to meghaen@attiaz.org.

In addition, ATTI is excited to announce that we will be bringing back the ATTI review class in 2023. Once registered for an exam, applicants are automatically registered in the review class held the Friday before their designated exam date.  This review class is included in your registration fee. ATTI also has other material to help applicants study and review before their scheduled test date, including our ATTI study guides and videos, which can be found online.

**NOTE: Soils Exams have a second review day. SOILS EXAM REVIEW DAYS are the THURSDAY and FRIDAY before your exam date.**

Last, beginning July 1, 2023, the Fields exam will increase to $450.00 and the Emergency Field Exam increase to $710.00 to match the other exam fees.  Thank you for your continued partnership in making ATTI a successful testing program.
